The Achievements of Food For Life Vrindavan

FFLV Achievements for April 2007 - March 2008

Education 

  •  2 schools with 850 children enrolled, 300 children attending evening classes. 

Food distribution 

  • 255,500 plates of kitchri (rice, lentils & vegetables) served.
  • 296,400 Sandipani Muni School lunches served.
  • 35,250 meals served to the elderly and widows.
  • 1,300 Sunday meals served to blind people.

588,450 Total meals distributed.

Social development

  • 50,000 villagers received free medical treatment. 
  • 10 New micro credit groups formed, bringing total to 90
  • 20 Villages participate in legal awareness camp; women’s rights; adult  education; health programs, and vocational training.

Water projects

  • 6 water wells bored and 6 hand pumps installed.

Environment

  • 365 days 27 men employed for cleaning of Vrindavan and the parikrama marg.
  • 60 days, 30 workers for clean Vrindavan sanitation drives.
  • 2,600 trees planted with (85% survival rates).

4,500 New Year gifts, 3,200 school uniforms.

  • 255,500 plates of kitchri (rice, lentils & vegetables).
  • 270,000 midday meals in Sandipani Muni School.
  • 3,200 special meals for girls and boys, plus gifts.
  • 38,500 meals served to elderly and widows.
  • 1,300 Sunday meals (feasts) to blind people.

568,500 Total meals distributed.

  • 50,000 villagers received free medical treatment.
  • 1080 children received Polio Drops.
  • 20 New self-help groups formed, making a total of 80.
  • 24 Villages participate in Social Development projects; legal awareness camps; women’s right and adult education.
  • 200 village women participated in three tailoring courses.
  • 1 village, Bari Atas, had wells bored and water tanks constructed.
  • 3,600 New Year gifts, 2,800 school uniforms, and thousands of second hand clothing distributed.
  • 365 days of parikrama marg and Vrindavan cleaning, thirty four men, full time.
  • 45 days, thirty three workers for clean Vrindavan sanitation drives.
  • 400 trees planted with (85% survival rates).

  • 141,163 midday meals to Sandipani Muni School children
  • 3,000 special meals for girls and boys, plus gifts
  • 30,000 meals served to elderly and widows
  • 1,250 Sunday meals (feasts) to blind people
27,413 Total meals distributed
  • 50,000 villagers received free medical treatment
  • 8,000 children received Polio Drops
  • 19 New self-help groups formed, making a total of 60
  • 16 Villages participate in Social Development projects; legal awareness camps; women’s right and adult education
  • 3 Days educational program ’Make Your Village Literate’ conducted in Sunrakh village 
  • 150 village women participated in two tailoring courses
  • 1 village, Bharatiya, and 2 schools in Madhuvan Maholi, had wells bored and water tanks constructed. Also 2 villages had boring and hand-pumps installed

  • 92,000 midday meals in Sandipani Muni School
  • 1,250 Sunday meals (feasts) to blind people
443,250 Total meals distributed
  • 50,000 villagers received free medical treatment
  • 4,000 children received Polio Drops
  • 300 trees planted with (90% survival)
  • 14 villages participate in Social Development projects, legal awareness camps, environmental campaign and education
  • 14 Self-help groups formed, making a total of 41
  • 14 New micro-credit groups established
  • 1 village Nangla Behari, and 2 Vrindavan colonies, Madhuvan & Sant, had wells bored and water tanks constructed

  • 30 days sanitation drive in Vrindavan with Municipal corp.
  • 400 villagers participated in a seminars on ’Quality of Life and Labour Welfare’ sponsored by Ministry of Labour

  • 92,000 midday meals in Sandipani Muni School
  • 1,250 Sunday meals (feasts) to blind people 
495,250 : Total meals distributed
  • 73,000 villagers received free medical treatment
  • 2,000 trees planted in school playgrounds
  • 200 trees planted on Parikarma Marg
  • 14 villages participate in Social Development programs/self-help groups/education/training
  • 11 Self-help groups formed, making a total of 27

  • 100,000 midday meals to school children

  • 12 women from 8 villages receive mid-wife training from English doctor

  • 85,000 Plates of Puri (flat bread), Subji (vegetable stew) and sweets
  • 32,500 Full meals for elderly persons and widows
466,200 : Total meals distributed
  • 10,000 Villagers received free medicine and assistance since October 1999
  • 7,000 Note-books, pencils and sharpener distributed to poor school children
  • 800 New sweater and wooly hat distributed in the winter to poor children
  • 500 New T-shirts distributed to children
  • 3,500 Pieces of second hand clothes distributed to the needy
  • 3 villages have been provided with drinking water by constructing wells and overhead tanks
